Treasure Hunting for Vintage Finds
I had the chance to go to a garage sale or two this weekend and the auction house to do some treasure hunting. I found tons of jewelry at terrific prices that I can use for my tie backs and I'm so happy about it. My vintage glass storage containers overrunneth. One surprise in a $5 lot of jewelry that I bought at auction was this class ring from 1924.

I plan on selling it to pay for all the rest of the jewelry I bought this weekend. Score! I also found these fruit crate ends at the auction for only about $1 each. I love the vibrant colors and vintage advertising. They will be coming to a screen porch near you very soon...

I can't resist antiques that are from the local area and these next two are prime examples. The first is a robin's egg blue carpenter's box that is hand painted on the inside with the name, "W.H. Ferber" and "New London", which is my hood people.

I know the exterior will clean up beautifully with a little bit o'Briwax.

Another example of local history is this awesome photo from the early 1900s of a street corner in my town. I plan on showing you another picture later in the week of this same street corner today. It's so fun to get a glimpse of the past. I picked up this treasure at a garage sale.

Hope your weekend was full of treasured times with the people and places you love.

What great finds! I love the fruit crate ends. They would make great serving trays for the right party. They're so colorful and fun!
