Vintage Robin's Egg Blue Box

This is yesterday's blog post; Window Treatment Wednesday will still be posted---no worries! If you follow me on Facebook, you know that I had a bit of a mishap yesterday. I was hanging my fruit crate boxes in the screen porch when I made the stupid mistake of putting one foot on a table instead of a ladder. It was a tall marble table with a concrete base. I broke the table, ripped a screen out and got quite a knock on the noggin, as well as, numerous other bumps and bruises. I was so mad at myself for doing something so silly. My day had been off to a productive start before that; I had cleaned up the blue box I purchased at auction and found a fun surprise under the dirt.

There was a different name on top of the lid than the one written on the inside but it still named my town. Love it! After cleaning the box, I gave it a coat of clear Briwax to brighten it up and seal it. The robin's egg blue really shines now.

For now, it's going to live on the screen porch under this table. I use the table for photographing vintage items for my Etsy shop.

From our ancestors come our names, but from our virtues our honors.
