New Branding Strategy
I spent some of the hot weather last week making some new tie backs for my Etsy shop. I went to visit Grandma and Grandpa Downhome because they have air conditioning and our old house does not. They only live across town but I packed up all my vintage jewelry and some fabric and other supplies and happily spent a cool afternoon designing. The next day I began taking pictures and then inspiration struck. You get to show five pictures for each item in your Etsy shop. My usual picture for my tie backs is a close up on a white background of a curtain--pretty standard and what everybody else is doing. I decided to take pictures of my tie back buttons on an slate chalkboard and add a whimsical saying. Here's what I mean...

Etsy shoppers will have to click through my listing to see the tiebacks on the curtain but since I've added a few of these new designs to my shop my stats have doubled from around 70 visitors a day to 150 or more. I think what this new branding strategy does is draw people in so they want to see a little more. I'm having fun with it and it allows me to be a little silly...

a little childish...

somewhat literary...

funny...

I have about 25% of the shop done and hope to finish it this week. I was a little nervous to do something off the wall but I'm loving the results. I'd love for you to stop by for a chuckle and see what you think.

Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of somebody else.

Loving the unexpected direction you are taking on your Etsy shop. It really does entice you to look further and spend more time in your shop. Great idea!

This is a fabulous idea! I love the look, especially the connection with your use of quotes on your blog posts. The new design really expresses you and your product. Nice job!
