Christmas in the Entryway
Last year I went all out in decorating my front entryway for Christmas. I temporarily put green Ikat fabric on the wall using starch, painted a chair bright red and added a royal Stewart plaid satin seat, glittered a pine cone wreath, and added a few vintage touches.

This year I am a little more pressed for time and the only plaid I am adding is to all the antlers for my shop. (Trust me, I'm counting my blessings and not complaining!) My realtor, Katie, had a fabulous idea when she suggested that I use one of my outdoor urns somewhere in my house for the holidays. She's a girl after my own heart so I took her advice. Remember my wine urn in the screen porch?

It now holds white poinsettias and greenery in my front entryway. It's a simple, bold statement that took me ten minutes to complete. Five of the minutes were spent convincing my boys to move the urn from the screen porch into the house.

I'm really pleased with the results. I do want to add a fresh evergreen garland hung with satin bows down the stairway. Like this one only sans the fruit...

I will honor Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.

The urn and the holiday garland are beautiful touches. They add a pretty festiveness to the space. I love repurposing pieces for holiday decorating!
